DMGT To Combine National And Regional Divisions

DMGT To Combine National And Regional Divisions

DMGT Daily Mail & General Trust is to bring together its national and regional operations, Associated Newspapers and Northcliffe Media, under the title of A&N Media.

The restructure will see Kevin Beatty, group managing director of Associated Newspapers, become the chief executive of A&N Media, while Michael Pelosi will remain managing director of Northcliffe Media.

DMGT said in a statement: “A&N Media will continue to deliver all its consumer newspaper and digital brands through Associated Newspapers Ltd and Northcliffe Media Ltd, while realising the efficiencies that this combination brings about.”

Associated Newspapers publishes titles such as the Daily Mail, Mail On Sunday, Evening Standard, and London Lite.

Earlier this week Northcliffe launched 45 local websites, taking the number of news sites it runs to more than the number of newspapers it publishes (see Northcliffe Media To Launch 45 Local Websites).

In July DMGT reported year on year revenue growth of 5% for the third quarter, with ad revenues at Associated Newspapers and Associated Northcliffe Digital down by 3% year on year.

Ad revenues from Associated’s newspaper business were down by 5%, with display falling 5% and classified down 9%.
