Duff Draws Up Shortlist For ITV Sales Director Role

Graham Duff, the recently appointed managing director of ITV Sales, has drawn up a shortlist of three candidates for the job of sales director at Carlton and Granada’s newly merged sales house.

It is understood that Carlton Sales managing director, Steve Platt, his second in command, Gary Digby, and Granada Sales managing director, Simon Pardon, are all in the running for the role at the sales operation (see Advertisers Give Mixed Reaction To ITV Merger).

A spokeswoman for Granada Enterprises confirmed that interviews for the highly coveted position are taking place today, with an official announcement about the appointment expected next Monday or Tuesday.

The new ITV sales director will report directly to Duff, who will be responsible for leading the integration of Carlton and Granada’s sales operations following the completion of their long awaited £4.5 billion merger early next year (see Duff Appointed To Head Up Merged ITV Sales House).

Duff, who is currently chief executive of Granada Enterprises, is also in the process of recruiting a head of knowledge management, a marketing director and an operations director for the new sales operation.

Earlier this week former Starcom Motive vice chairman, David Connolly, was named as the independent adjudicator responsible for overseeing airtime sales at ITV following the merger of Carlton and Granada.

Connolly takes up his position next week with responsibility for implementing and overseeing the controversial contract rights renewal remedy, which allows advertisers to roll over the discounts on their current ITV contracts for the next three years (see Starcom Motive’s Connolly To Oversee ITV Airtime Sales).
