Eastenders Still Tops
Thanks to the continuing Ian/Cindy/David storyline Eastenders is still the most watched programme of the week. Over 17 million people tuned into the episode broadcast on Thursday October 17th. When second showing figures are added the total number of viewers exceeds 22 million, four million higher than Monday’s Coronation Street consolidated figure.
Granada’s light entertainment programme You’ve Been Framed continues to improve it’s weekly audience total. The edition shown on Sunday October 20th attracted an audience of 16.52 million viewers, a 64% consolidated share of viewing and is number five on the top thirty programmes list. This is slightly down on last week’s figure but is considerably higher than any other edition shown in the present series.
The return of Noel’s House Party to BBC1 Saturday nights has apparently failed to bolster the channel’s prime time line-up, with all but the National Lottery and Casualty being beaten in the ratings war by their ITV equivalent.
Average television viewing for individuals four plus has fallen slightly in comparison to the same week last year, down by 0.2%. In Astra Panel homes new children’s channel Fox Kids has reported viewing figures for it’s first week of transmission. Fox Kids was watched for an average of 3 minutes, had a share of viewing of 0.2%, an average daily reach of 0.7% and a weekly reach of 3.8% of Astra panel viewers. Viewing of all Astra channel has risen slightly by 0.8% in comparison to the same week last year.
