A source of radio audience data for media planners, advertisers and agencies is now available on the internet, with the launch of the Electronic RAJAR site. The site contains both current and archived data and has been designed and developed by MediaTel Limited on behalf of the Radio Advertising Bureau.

There are four main elements to the site:

  • The Quarterly Summary reveals the very latest RAJAR results.
  • The Trends Analyser allows audience figures for both BBC services and Commercial Radio to be tracked all the way back to the first RAJAR in 1992.
  • The Station Ranker will sort Commercial Radio stations according to their ability to reach a range of different demographic audiences.
  • The About RAJAR pages explain what RAJAR is and how the research is conducted.

Rupert Steele, head of media planning services at the RAB, says: “Electronic RAJAR is a big step forward, particularly for media planners, because it’s been geared to answering many of the questions agencies and advertisers typically ask. Not only is it user-friendly but it’s also quick, so I can see it becoming the first port of call for anyone who wants to get their hands on top-line radio audience data”.

Certain areas of the site are only accessible by subscribers who will have a user name and password; the rest of the site is open access.
