Electronic Telegraph Invests In Relaunch

The Electronic Telegraph (ET) is to be relaunched as Telegraph.co.uk, gaining a new look and feel and five new channels, launched progressively between now and the end of the year.

Matthew Duffy, business development director of Hollinger Telegraph New Media, the Telegraph’s wholly owned subsidiary, said that a “significant investment” has been made in the technical infrastructure of the new site. “The new platform provides more functionality and improved navigation.” he said. The relaunch is set for next month.

The new channels will cover Sport, Travel, Personal Finance, Jobs and Motoring, areas where Duffy feels the ET is already strong. The ET launched in 1995 and was the first UK national newspaper to be published on the internet (see First Advertiser For Electronic Telegraph).
