EMAP announced today the acquisition of AutoLocate, an internet business focusing on the car trade market. The deal is part of the group’s ongoing development of its online and offline media for this sector.
AutoLocate provides software and information sources allowing dealers within the used car trade to source vehicles, and trade and sell online. The UK used car market is currently worth around £55 billion.
EMAP has been expanding its interests in the automotive sector, most recently with the acquisition of a stake in US company Carparts.com (see EMAP Partners Internet Auto Business). Its print portfolio within the market includes Cars and Classic Cars.
