Emap Adds SMS To Cross Media Mix
Emap Advertising has indicated its commitment to including New Media as part of its cross media offering, with the announcement that Jane Kesley, director of cross media, is to take on the responsibility for New Media sales with immediate effect. Bruce Daisley, previously sales manager, will become sales director for online, stepping into the shoes of Jane Henley, who is now director of customer service.

Emap Advertising’s managing director Dave King said: “Online and SMS are becoming increasingly important within our cross media deals as customers realise the strengths or our brands to elicit a direct response from consumers.”
Kesley added: “The demand for online and SMS channels to be integrated into communications strategies is growing. New Media offers advertisers exciting and effective interactive solutions.”
As text messaging or SMS has increased in popularity in the UK, so too has interest from advertisers, who are using it, often in conjunction with other media, as a form of direct marketing (see Feature: Wireless Marketing).
