Emap Advertising Forms Creative Team To Aid Sales
Emap Advertising has announced the creation of an in-house creative department, consisting of a web designer and a producer. The establishment of the department will not mean that online advertising creative work will be brought in house. Instead, the new appointees will work along the lines of agencies’ creative teams to assist the online sales team in selling the potential of the internet.
Dave King, director of online sales for Emap Advertising, said, “Clients are continually asking us to give them ideas for ambitious campaigns that go beyond a banner sitting on a page. This team will help provide them with the solutions they want. To date online has worked brilliantly for advertisers with a strong direct response element to their campaigns. Now we want to be able to reach out and offer bright ideas to FMCGs and clients who want to achieve stand-out branding.”
Richard Sheridan has been appointed to the position of web designer. His previous work has included the creation of cable internet television sites for Telewest and, most recently, the design and operation of a business to business travel site providing travel agents with a comprehensive booking system.
The producer will be Katherine Formosa, who joins from Woolworth’s interactive division, where she helped relaunch the website. She also has experience of co-ordinating corporate and direct shopping catalogues. Formosa and Sheridan will work independently on client briefs.
