Emap Appoints New Head Of Marketing For TV

Emap Performance has appointed Vikki Timmons as head of marketing for television, across its portfolio of seven digital music channels.

Timmons, who takes up the role next month, will be responsible for all aspects of affiliate and consumer marketing across Emap’s range of television channels, which includes cross-media brands such as The Box, Smash Hits, Kiss, Q, Kerrang!, Magic and The Hits.

She will report to brand director for Emap Performance South, Russell Jones, who said: “Vikki joins us at an exciting time in the development of our TV business. I’m confident that her marketing experience combined with our programming talent will deliver further audience increases on top of the dynamic growth already achieved.”

Timmons, who joins Emap from the Disney TV Channel, where she was marketing manager for Disney EMEA, added: “Music television is a highly competitive area at the moment and I’m looking forward to meeting the challenge across Emap’s seven music channels.”

Emap recently expanded its radio portfolio on the Freeview platform with the launch of three new national digital stations, The Hits, Q and Magic, which will sit alongside Kiss, Kerrang! and Smash Hits (see Emap Launches More New Digital Stations On Freeview).

Earlier this month Emap’s chairman, Adam Broadbent, announced the company is on track to meet end of year targets, with healthy revenues flowing into the cross-media corporation (see Emap In Line To Meet Full-Year Expectations).
