Emap Digital Grows Its E-Commerce Portfolio
Emap Digital has launched an e-commerce venture in conjunction with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). The website, www.grogro.com, went live today, giving gardeners the chance to buy online from a choice of over 1,000 plants and products available at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, which is organised by the RHS.
Several methods have been designed to bring visitors to the site. Channel 4, which has the exclusive TV and webcasting rights to the show, has a link from its website. The RHS website will also carry links from its sections called Product Finder and Plant Finder. In addition advertising will be carried by Garden Answers, Garden and Garden News, and a special show publication published by Channel 4 and Emap Active will also advertise the site.
Following the Chelsea Flower Show this week, the site is expected to continue working alongside the RHS for events later this year including Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and Tatton Park Flower Show.
Emap Digital was established last November to create e-commerce revenue streams for the company. In March it became a separate division, encompassing all Emap’s internet presence.
