Emap Extends Email Marketing With Bluestreak

Emap has reaffirmed its commitment to email advertising and has extended its agreement with digital marketing group Bluestreak to introduce a raft of new initiatives.

Emap sent 60 million emails this year across its 20 brands including FHM, Empire, Smash Hits and New Woman. Bluestreak has been developing email campaigns for Emap for the past three years and as part of the new deal it will develop more integrated campaigns utilising a range of new software.

The contract was won following a competitive four-way pitch with other online marketing agencies. Chris Lawson from Emap consumer media, said: “Email has been excellent and robust with Bluestreak, but now we are moving on to develop the best online marketing campaigns around. We laid down a rigorous evaluation process to select our partner for what will prove to be a major stepping stone year in our online marketing activities.”

Jeff Barnes, vice president of Bluestreak International, added: “You can never sit back in such a fast moving market. Emap are good to work with as they push the boundaries of online marketing always looking for the next innovation in campaigns. We knew it would be a strenuous pitch but we were always confident that our ability to deliver the next level of online marketing would be a key factor in matching Emap’s aspirations.”

Emap recently announced plans to launch its celebrity entertainment magazine, Heat, as a national music radio station on Freeview at the end of this month (see Emap Hots Up With Launch Of Heat Radio On Freeview).
