EMAP PLANS TRANS WORLD TAKEOVER BID

Emap has unveiled a plan to mount a takeover bid for independent radio group Trans World Communications, which includes Piccadilly Radio in Manchester. The publisher already holds 29.5% of Trans World and now plans to buy the 22% held by Owen Oyston. Emap has already received provisional approval to buy Oyston’s stake for £15.5m, 181p per share. If this goes ahead Emap will hold 51% and will therefore be obliged to make an offer for the whole company at the same price.
