Media group EMAP this morning announced six-month financial results which show that pre-tax profits have risen 34% to £50.6m on the back of turnover which increased 16% to £388.3m.
Advertising income from consumer magazines was partly responsible for the good growth, increasing 10%, though ad revenue was flat in the business magazines sector. Profits were good in the radio businesses which also saw ad revenue increase by 25%.
