Emap Results – Profits Up

EMAP has released results this morning for the year ending April 4. Pre-tax profits were up 7.8% from £42.4m to £45.7m. The magazine breakdown of the results was a profit of £24.1m, an increase of 69.7% on last year.

Annual profits would have been £12.2m higher, but for the costs of 22 magazine launches and rationalisation. Among the titles Emap published last year were Carweek and Mojo.

Chairman Sir John Hoskyns said he saw a slow and long-term rise in advertising and said its main business was strong.
