Emap Wins Digital Radio Licence For Central Lancashire
The Radio Authority has awarded the local digital multiplex service licence for the Central Lancashire area to the sole applicant Emap. The group will deliver eight programme services to a population of up to 3m.
Dance radio Kiss, easy listening from Magic, alternative tunes from Xfm, and contemporary hits from 97.4 Rock FM will be included in the line-up and BBC local radio will also broadcast from the multiplex. It is expected to commence broadcasting in September 2001.
