Some of the shares in GWR Group which were placed up for sale by Capital Radio earlier this week (subscribers see Capital Sells GWR Stake) have been bought by the music group EMI.
EMI has secured 4 million shares in GWR Group taking their stake in the company to just under 14 per cent. The £6.8m purchase leaves EMI as the second-largest shareholder in GWR giving it potential for a take-over bid.
