Digitas has hired Emma de la Fosse as its new UK chief creative officer, poaching her from rival agency Ogilvy.
Ogilvy has lost a number of senior staff members since it restructured in May this year, unifying its group silos – including ad agency Ogilvy & Mather – under a single P&L. Charlie Rudd, chief client officer, and Clare Donald, chief production officer, both left in July.
De la Fosse will be responsible for developing Digitas UK’s creative talent and overseeing creative output across all client work.
“If you were starting an agency today you’d put talented media, tech and data people at the heart of it,” she said.

“You’d have a fresh, future focused operator, like Dani Bassil, as the CEO and the creative guru that is Nick Law to guide and mentor you. That’s Digitas. Creatively, they’re hungry to put themselves on the map. For a hands-on creative director like me, there is nothing more irresistible. It’s an agency with enormous potential.”
De la Fosse will report to Dani Bassil, Digitas UK’s CEO, who added: “Emma is the best of the best. I’ve admired her for so long and I can’t wait for us to get started. To say this is an exciting new chapter for Digitas is an understatement – she is an inspirational leader and an incredible creative thinker. I know she will lead the team, the wider agency and our clients to new creative heights.”
The appointment follows recent creative talent elevations and appointments across the Digitas global network including: Scott Donaton, global chief creative & content officer; Atit Shah and Andrew Carlson, co-chief creative officers/North America; Sue DeSilva, executive creative director, Boston; Jenny Awasano, senior vice president, creative, New York; and Matt Cullen and Gary Tranter to CCOs, APAC.
