‘Endless possibilities’: Perhaps AI can be creative

AI is as central to the conversation than ever before. But Oliver Yonchev, founder of Cocreatd, wants to know: can AI be truly creative? Anyway, what even is creativity?

Sceptics of AI would argue that it cannot be transformational due to the foundational mechanics of how large language models work and its probabilistic nature.

Underlining how humans draw upon their experiences to channel creative ideas, Yonchev asked: “Are we any different?”

“We have come to learn that computers are binary. They’re good at the rational stuff. They can’t be human,” he said. “Well, now we move into an era where computers are no longer binary. They’re no longer just deterministic. You all have endless possibilities.”
