Green Flag, best known for National Breakdown, was finally confirmed as the new sponsor of the England football team yesterday in a £4m deal, which had been widely rumoured for some time.
The package takes in logos on England’s training kit and tracksuits and the sponsorship of internationals at Wembley and runs through to the next World Cup in 1998 in France.
Unusually, this is one sponsorship football has been slow to confirm. England’s cricket team has carried the Tetley Bitter logo for several years now, and the national rugby union team is sponsored by Courage and Scrumpy Jack.
