Following the successful launch earlier this year, MediaTel is to host its second annual Connected Consumer Awards – the ‘Connies’ – in March 2014 in celebration of those pioneering new advertising and commercial opportunities powered by innovation.
The event will follow MediaTel’s annual two-day Connected Consumer Conference at Nomura, with this year’s categories including Most Creative Campaign, Most Effective Campaign, Most Connected Agency, Best Technology, Best Innovation and Best Research Project.
An esteemed panel of judges – chaired by Graham Lovelace and made up of Wolverine Consulting’s Stacey Anklam, Equal’s Mark Cross, Digital TV Group’s Simon Gauntlett, Research the Media’s Richard Marks and MediaTel columnist Dominic Mills – will be given the challenging task of reviewing all entries and selecting a winner as well as one overall Grand Prix winner.
“Media owners, brands and agencies are reaching out to connected consumers in new ways, using connected devices and platforms to tell stories, build loyalty and awareness, amplify messages, and conduct transactions,” said Lovelace.
“The Connies focus on what’s working, providing marketers with a set of ‘how to’ case studies.”
At the inaugural 2013 event, Virgin Media picked up the award for Best Campaign as well as being named Grand Prix winner for its work with HTC One on TiVo. Ross Robertson, group controller of Virgin Media, said it was “great to get recognition” for one of the first big campaigns on TiVo.
