ES: Government Moves On Digital TV
In response to pressure from the EC concerning its position on digital TV, the Spanish government has adopted amendments to the country’s laws on digital TV on 12 September. The amendments remove the obstacles to freedom to provide goods and services which are presently hindering the commercial development of one of Spain’s two digital providers, Canal Satelite Digital. Commissioner Mario Monti will now study the amendments and rule as to whether they satisfy the requirements of the Commission.
