EU: Schools marketing under scrutiny
EC consumer affairs officials of DG XXIV – specifically believed to be Christiane Specht and her Danish head of unit, Nymand-Christensen – have begun studying the relationship between schools and industry sponsorship in Belgium, France, Scandinavia, Spain and the UK to attempt to arrive at an overall view of the way different MS operate policies in this area. Once the study is finished the Commission may seek to develop an EU-wide code of practice to regulate sponsorship of schools.
