EU: Small Shops To Be Exempted

Under an agreement just reached between Parliament and Council following a meeting of the joint Conciliation Committee, Member States may now exempt certain small shops, for a transitional period, from the obligation to indicate the price of goods per unit of quantity. This was the final aspect of the agreement which will now lead to the adoption of a directive intended to protect consumers by requiring the dual pricing of consumer products.
