Euro 2000 Schedules Pit BBC And ITV Against Each Other

ITV and the BBC will broadcast simultaneous coverage of England’s match against Germany as part of Euro 2000. The two channels, between whom live coverage for the competition is split, have confirmed their schedules for the matches this summer.

If England reach the quarter finals or semi final, both BBC1 and ITV will show the match live, with ITV showing two of the remaining quarter finals and BBC1 showing one. If England have been eliminated at this stage, both channels will screen two quarter finals and one semi-final each.

As in previous years the live broadcast of the competition final, on Sunday 2 July, will be shared between the channels.

ITV’s coverage of the competition is to be sponsored by Carlsberg (see ITV Signs £5m Carlsberg Sponsorship For Euro 2000).
