ITV have acquired the rights to the European Rugby World Cup after signing a multi million pound three year deal with European Rugby Cup Ltd.
The European Rugby Cup will kick off in Romania on October 31 when the home club champions Farul Contanta, entertain the French double winners, Toulouse.
ITV who are already signed up for a third successive World Cup in 1999, will broaden their rugby coverage in the Northern Hemisphere by providing coverage of the inaugural, 1996 and 1997 European cup tournaments.
