Two European satellite companies are believed to be putting together a bid for television coverage of the Premier League in competition with BSkyB.
Filmnet, a Dutch satellite company, and BetaTechnik, a German broadcaster, are rumoured to have had exploratory talks with the Premier League regarding the contract, which is held by BSkyB and which is due for review next season.
