European Union Turns To Satellite

European Commissioners are to start broadcasting to European countries in a bid to get more in touch with European voters. Broadcast via Eutelstat, the commission’s own satellite receiver, you could receive ‘total allowable catches’ in full. as they are announced at a press briefing. Or viewers could enjoy a ‘thematic dossier’ of European capitals, before an episode of the European Parliament – live from Strasbourg.

The commission will spend 50 million ECUs (£41.6 million) on information campaigns, promoting the single currency, the inter-governmental conference on EU reform, and citizens rights.
