Evening Standard Makes Its Mark On London Newsagents

The Evening Standard is setting up a network of six-sheet poster sites in London newsagents. Fifty have already been installed, with another fifty or more currently in the pipeline. “Independent newsagents is where our product sells, therefore it makes sense to advertise there” commented marketing manager Nick Sheldon, describing the opportunity as a synergy between advertisers, sales and revenue.

Although Sheldon could not confirm what advertisers have signed up so far, major confectionary companies are believed to be interested in starting a campaign in June this year. Only brands suitable to the location will be able to use the sites, and should they not be sold, the sites will be used to promote the Evening Standard.
