Exeter Local Radio Licences Awarded
The Radio Authority has announced the award of the re-advertised ILR licences on AM and FM wavebands for the Exeter/ Torbay area.
The licences have been awarded to Gemini Radio. The other shortlisted applicant was DevonAir Radio Ltd, – the existing licensee.
On the FM frequency Gemini will broadcast a mixture of recent and current chart hits; on AM, it will provide a former chart hits service with up to 45% speech content at peak-time. There will be two separate services broadcast from the start of the new period, which will be eight years from 1 January 1995.

The first dance package has been booked on National Network Radio for record label Beggars Banquet’s subsidiary Excel and its album by 4th Chapter. The package was booked by London Media.
