Express To Launch London Section

Express To Launch London Section

The Daily Express is to launch a weekly Friday section in London on 13 August. The 28 page tabloid supplement is to be called New London, and will provide competition for the Evening Standard. New London will have an estimated circulation of 290,000; the June ABC figures for the Evening Standard were 461,732.

New London will have a magazine-style front cover and will be printed on glossier paper than the rest of the Express, with 50% of the pages in colour. It is aimed at 18-34 year olds and will cover food, fashion, shopping, full listings for the West End, plus full coverage for local cinema and theatres.

New London follows the success of the Sunday Express’ London section launched last September, which has already increased its circulation from 250,000 to more than 300,000. The sales team will be the same as for the Daily Express, but there will be a separate editorial team.

Rates are as follows:

Full Page Mono £6750

Full Page Colour £8500
