The four websites owned by Express Newspapers are to close following an unsuccessful attempt to find a buyer for them. Express.co.uk, Allaboutparents.com, sportlive.co.uk and companyleader.com are expected to be put into liquidation today.
The websites were transferred to stockbroker Seymour Pierce for a nominal sum last month as part of a series of cost-cutting moves by new Express owners, Northern &. They were believed to be losing £8m a year but it was hoped that a buyer would be found.
Fifty people are believed to have lost their jobs as a result of the sale.
