Family Circle To Get New Focus
The April issue of IPC’s Family Circle magazine will go on sale tomorrow with a new editorial focus and a new section devoted to supermarket shopping.
IPC says that there will be a “re-focus of the magazine’s core values to concentrate on a number of key elements”. These include more of a focus on real life issues with values that are “modern, emotional, humorous and trusted”; using readers to give opinions via polls and panels; a new look and slant to the magazine’s cookery coverage; a new section covering supermarket shopping with its own newly appointed editor.
The title’s latest ABC figure was 300,204, a decrease of over 6,500 on the previous period’s figure. Family Circle will now be hoping that the revamp will revitalise its stagnated sales and perhaps begin to climb to the figure of over 600,000 copies it achieved in the late ’80s.
