Emap’s market leading men’s lifestyle FHM has announced plans to revamp its website with the backing of a number of big brand advertisers.
Companies already on board for the relaunch of FHM.com include Coca Cola, BT, Hugo Boss, Mazda and UIP, which will sponsor respective re-designed sections on the music, mobile, grooming, gadgets and movies areas of the site.
FHM.com already claims to be visited by 1.9 million users each month, but with the latest ABC figures showing FHM magazine to have a readership of over 600,000, there is obviously room to expand on the site’s already successful formula.
The new site will build further on the successful pay-per-view and pay-per-play sections, providing more photos, games and magazine tie-ins synonymous with the already established FHM brand. It also promises further development of existing features, such as the High Street Honeys section devoted to FHM‘s quest to find Britain’s 100 sexiest undiscovered women and turn one of them into a coverstar.
James Carter, publishing director of FHM UK said: “We are delighted to secure such large and well-respected brands for the re-launch of FHM.com. The new site will retain the quality that is synonymous with the FHM brand, whilst increasing the depth of content and innovation. FHM.com has proved that a financially successful magazine website is a viable proposition, and we are now looking to take further steps to ensure the ultimate lad’s web-surfing experience”.
The announcement of FHM.com’s re-launch follows a busy month for men’s magazines with the launch of specialist men’s wedding title Stag & Groom and the continuing battle for supremacy between weekly men’s magazines Nuts and FHM stablemate, Zoo Weekly (see NewsLine Column: Going Nuts For Men’s Weeklies?).
