Film Industry To Receive £150m

The Department of National Heritage has announced a new National Lottery film franchise scheme which will bring new investment of over £150 million in British films over the next six years. This is in addition to the £81m already awarded to film and cinema projects by the Lottery.

Virginia Bottomley, the National Heritage Secretary, said: “It bodes well for the future of film production in this country, consolidating the success which British films and talent are already achieving worldwide as this year’s Oscar and BAFTA nominations demonstrate.”
