Financial Times Revamp To Attract Women
In a bid to improve Monday’s traditionally “dead” day for business news, the Financial Times is to revamp its Monday paper, making it more “female friendly”.
The revamp is a continuation of the changes made in November to the second section. The first section’s beginning news pages will remain unchanged, then the new pages will begin with a revamp of the Monday Management Page. This will be lighter, aimed at business men as consumers covering topics such as company cars and personal finance. There will be a Start the Week page which will give points about the week’s happenings. Other pages will include a People’s page, profiling someone in the news, Desert Island Manager, a redesigned Architecture page, from a user point of view, and Media Futures. This will concentrate more on multimedia technological advances.
These changes are due to come into effect from mid-May. Ads in the new Monday paper will include a guaranteed solus spot, and the possibility of booking a specific page, such as the architecture page.
