Flytxt Announces Partnership With Logica

Flytxt has formed a partnership with global solutions and mobile messaging company Logica, to allow advertisers to run more high-volume mobile marketing campaigns.

Under the partnership, which combines Flytxt’s mobile marketing applications with Logica’s text messaging infrastructure, the two companies will work with mobile operators to build a network capable of supporting a greater number of interactive, cross-network SMS campaigns.

Flytxt’s vice president of business development, Pamir Gelenbe, said: “Mobile marketing has a bright future, with more and more brands and media companies using SMS in their marketing mix. We have to ensure that the mobile marketing industry is living up to the challenges of ever larger and technically more complex campaigns. Our partnership with Logica is a big step in that direction.”

Logica’s product marketing manager, Simon Holmes, added: “Mobile marketing offers a tremendous opportunity to generate new messaging revenue streams for our customers. This partnership will unlock the industry’s potential to become the fifth marketing channel.”

The latest figures from the Mobile Data Association show that 1.3 billion text messages were sent during December 2001, adding to the total of 12.2 billion, which were sent over the course of the year (see Text Message Total For 2001 Exceeds 12 Billion).
