Press rumours that Oasis are in negotiations with Manchester City Football Club regarding a sponsorship deal were denied by the band’s record label Creation.
The football club is currently sponsored by Brother, the electronics firm, but the contract is close to expiring.
It is also believed that JVC is about to drop its sponsorship of Arsenal Football Club. JVC have sponsored the team for the last 15 years but are thought to be concerned with the negative publicity the team has been receiving lately: notably allegations that George Graham, the Arsenal manager, had taken transfer ‘bungs’ and that striker Paul Merson was involved in drugs and gambling.
The current contract is up for renewal at the end of this season.
