WPP’s Wunderman Thompson has hired Caroline Foster Kenny as global chief client officer, a newly created role.
Foster Kenny, who is currently CEO of IPG Mediabrands in the UK and EMEA, will report to Wunderman Thompson global CEO, Mel Edwards, and will be based out of London.
As part of the global leadership team, Foster Kenny will be responsible for global client relationship development, driving business and brand transformation for the top 30 global clients.
“Caroline will be a fantastic asset to the Wunderman Thompson global leadership team,” said Edwards.
“Her commitment and passion for agency transformation and client growth is unparalleled, and I’m confident that she will help us inspire growth both for our clients, and also for our people.” [advert position=”left”]
At IPG, Foster Kenny has been responsible for all of the group’s digital and media businesses across the UK and EMEA region, including Initiative, UM, The Reprise Network, Sticky Eyes, Rapport, Mublaoo, MAGNA and Orion.
Prior to joining IPG Mediabrands, Foster Kenny served as global chief client officer at MEC (now Wavemaker), part of WPP’s GroupM.
Foster Kenny was also part of WPP for over 20 years, holding various international leadership roles, including a six-year stint in Asia, based out of Hong Kong and Shanghai.
“This is truly an opportunity I could not pass on – it’s a defining moment for me,” said Foster Kenny.
“Wunderman Thompson has all of the right ingredients to partner with their clients to drive business and brand growth. I’ve long admired from afar the talents, creativity and phenomenal capabilities the agency boasts, and now to be part of that, well, I can’t stop smiling!”
Advertising giant WPP merged JWT – the world’s oldest ad agency at 154 years – with digital network Wunderman in November 2018, positioning it as a creative, data and technology agency providing end-to-end solutions at a global scale.
Foster Kenny is due to start in June.
