Fox Kids Europe has secured computer software group, Infogrames, as the sponsor of its new sports series Jam Hot.
The new programme, which is aimed at 8 to 12 year-olds, will showcase extreme sports such as snowboarding, skateboarding, BMX-ing, in-line skating and extreme skiing.
The three-minute show will run at peak times from January 2003 and be supported by an extensive online campaign. Infogrames will receive credits on all TV trailers for the show, alongside an on-air ad campaign.
There will also be a microsite dedicated to Infograme’s new computer games character, Zapper, which will be linked to across Fox Kids European network of sites.
Pascale Vermeerbergen, European marketing director of Infogrames, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Fox Kids on this project as Zapper and action sports all share a strong element of ‘attitude’. Jam Hot provides a unique promotional vehicle for Zapper and we have been able to build equity for our new franchise by associating him with a leading kids channel and compelling programme content.”
Phil Guest, commercial director of Fox Kids Europe, added: “Jam Hot’s formula is simple, adaptable and effective. This sponsorship agreement is a first for both Fox Kids and Infogrames in that it takes the traditional advertising relationship to a new level. Not only does this association provide a new programme for Fox Kids’s audience but also a unique cross-media promotional vehicle for Infogrames’ new franchise.”
Earlier this year Fox Kids teamed up with The Sun, to promote its half-term programming and its new cartoon, Shin Chan, with a free A5 comic in the newspaper and a TV ad campaign (see Fox Kids Teams Up With The Sun For Cartoon Promotion).
