FR: Internet growth

There are now more than 2m users of the Internet in France and the number is growing by 7 per cent a month, according to new market research by the French consultancies Sofres and Mediangles. Advertising on the Internet in France is expected to double and perhaps even triple in 1998, from a total value of Ff22 million in 1997. In European terms, the UK market is five times that size, and the German market is three times larger than the French.
