Freeserve Launches Ad Campaign

Internet service provider Freeserve is bucking the current downturn affecting the new media sector with the launch of a multi-million pound advertising campaign to raise the profile of its on-line and off-line brand.
The campaign, which was unveiled yesterday, includes TV, press, radio and online advertising as well as a direct marketing push and in-store promotions. It is Freeserve’s first major marketing drive since becoming part of the French based Wanadoo Group last Spring.
Freeserve’s managing director of marketing, Keith Hawkins, said: “This comprehensive advertising campaign demonstrates our commitment to driving internet users to Freeserve. The ISP market has become a much more orderly place for competitors and consumers alike. As such it is important to compete on brand as much as it is on price.”
The launch of the campaign, which was created by M & C Saatchi, comes just two weeks after rival internet service provider AOL revamped its “Connie” virtual guide campaign.
