FT Appoints New Ad Director
The Financial Times has announced that it is appointing David Walsh advertisement director.
Walsh joins the title from News International, where he is currently deputy director of advertising at The Sunday Times and The Times. The position will be effective from January 1999, and Walsh will be reporting directly to Michael Murphy, worldwide commercial director.
Michael Murphy commented:”It is great news that David will be joining The Financial Times. The FT has a strong sales team which has had a very good year in 1997. I am confident that David will continue to drive the advertising sales of the FT newspaper and that he will successfully meet all the challenges that he will face in this exciting role.”
