FT.com Appoints Pocklington As New Commercial Director

The Financial Times has appointed Nigel Pocklington to the newly created position of commercial director of its FT.com website.
In his new role Pocklington, formerly director of strategy at Pearson, will be responsible for all aspects of FT.com’s commercial performance and development.
He will also work closely with Tracy Corrington, editor of FT.com, to ensure the subscription-based website continues to deliver both editorially and technologically.
Commenting on the appointment, Zack Leonard, FT.com managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “Nigel brings a powerful combination of strategic vision and strong commercial acumen and he’ll be a great asset to the team as we lead FT.com to the next stage of its development.”
FT.com was named the UK’s leading newspaper website this week by the influential British Business Survey. The site’s traffic figures have also risen to an all time high with 3.8 million unique monthly users.
The Financial Times recently appointed Gill Hart to the position of marketing director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. It also appointed Ben Hughes to take up the newly created role of worldwide advertising director (see FT Appoints Hughes As New Worldwide Ad Director).
