The FT is tonight launching FT Business News Service, a news service aimed at ILR stations. The business news service, a joint venture between ABC, Unique and the FT will combine the radio knowledge of ABC, the city and business news desk of the FT, with the marketing side handled by Unique.
The new venture will offer a specialised service for each radio station. The service, which has been on trial for one month at Fox FM in Oxford, has been signed up by twenty stations already.
Reuters is believed to be planning a national radio news service to rival Independent Radio News, once it has completed its takeover of London News Radio.
