FT Restructures Ad Sales Team

The Financial Times has restructured its advertisement sales department, incorporating it into the wider display department and promoting the ad sales team.
The restructure will give increased responsibility to the existing head of UK display sales, Charlie Brookes and will see James Burton report to Brookes in the role of financial sales manager. Former head of financial sales, Bill MacLeod has been promoted to the position of commercial development manager and will report to ad sales director, David Walsh.
The agency sales department will be headed up by Marcus Blease, who has moved from the classified recruitment team to the wider display department. Within the agency sales team Danny Aldred and Rob Joliffe have been promoted to group sales heads.
Commenting on the new appointments, Walsh said: “During the last six months we have continued to win new business, innovate and vigorously promote the newspaper and FT.com to our customers. The promotions we’ve made within the sales team reflect the FT‘s commitment to people development and ensure that we can continue to provide the best service possible for our advertisers.”
Head of survey sales, Emma Freeman, has taken on increased responsibility for the FT‘s regional sales teams. In the client sales team Jim Chaudry and Ian Ely-Corbett have been promoted to key account managers.
The classified sales department has also been restructured, with Alison Burrows taking over as head of classified advertising and Shadi Darvish taking up the position of group head of classified property. Both will report to head of classified Neil Roberts.
