FT Signs Renault Trucks For New Football Supplement

The Financial Times has secured Renault Trucks as the sole advertiser for its new tabloid supplement, The Premiership.

The 16-page colour supplement, which launches today, will be published with Thursday’s FT and will include analysis and interviews with the Premiership’s top players and managers, as well as reports from other European football leagues.

Euan Harron, marketing director of Renault Trucks UK, said: “We were looking to reach a target audience of key decision makers in the commercial vehicle operating industry that do not read the industry trade press on a regular basis. The sponsorship of a Premiership supplement in the FT fitted the bill perfectly.”

The FT recently produced successful supplements on the World Cup and Formula One and the paper’s UK advertisement director, Claire Payne, added: “The Premiership is the latest in a series of in-depth supplements which complement the FT‘s sporting coverage.”

Last week The Times launched a weekly sports supplement called The Game, to coincide with the start of the Premiership season. Andrew Mullins, marketing director of The Times, said: “Over 18 million people follow football – they want to get post match reaction and analysis” (see Times Launches Football Supplement).
