Future Acquires Rights To the net

Future Publishing has signed a deal with Haymarket Publications to acquire the subscriber list and usage rights to Haymarket’s suspended title the net.

Future plans to merge the title, which closed last month, with its own internet magazine .net.

Publisher of .net, Dave Taylor, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming these new subscribers and more newsstand readers to the magazine. The next few issues of the .net will include a signpost to readers that .net now “Incorporates the net” allowing us to maximise the potential newsstand gains. We anticipate good financial results from this deal.”

He added: “In the latest round of ABC’s .net proved to be the highest actively purchased monthly internet magazine and with the closure of the net it is now once again the UK’s leading internet monthly magazine.”

As part of the deal Haymarket will receive the subscriber list and usage rights to Future’s recently closed Total Football (see Future To Close Total Football).
