Future Expands Digital Home Magazine With Acquisition

Future Publishing has acquired Carlton Stanhope Media’s Future Home magazine and plans to merge it with its existing Digital Home title.

The move will see the significant expansion of Future’s monthly home interest magazine, which was tested with a one-off edition last Christmas and launched as a monthly stand alone title in May (see Future Publishing Launches Digital Lifestyle Magazine).

Commenting on the acquisition, John Weir, publishing director of Future’s Digital Division, said: “We are very pleased with the progress of Digital Home. And with Future Home now on board, we are able to consolidate our market leading position and take Digital Home forward responding to the current technological evolution and providing a lifestyle guide to the latest digital innovations.”

Rob Lehmann, managing director at Carlton Stanhope Media, which recently launched the First Home & Mortgage title, revealed the group is disposing of Future Home in to further develop its presence in the house purchase and private finance magazine sectors.

Future Publishing recently appointed Jacquie Duckworth as advertising director for its London based-magazines, following the creation of separate directorial roles for its London and Bath offices (see Future Publishing Appoints New Ad Director).
