Future Publishing Launches Digital Lifestyle Magazine

Future Publishing is launching an upmarket style magazine called Digital Home, to cover the latest developments in the digital marketplace.

The new monthly title, which was tested with a one-off edition last Christmas, will go on sale at the end of May, with the support of an extensive point-of sale promotion.

Digital Home will feature articles on home furnishings, digital gadgets, interviews, reviews and a variety of advertisers. Future Publishing will also be launching a website to support the title.

Commenting on the launch, senior editor, Dan Hutchinson, said: “Digital Home is an innovative magazine dedicated to the current technological climate. The traditional battle lines between IT, telecoms and consumer electronics are dissolving to reveal a technological world, where connected devices seamlessly communicate to deliver information and entertainment wherever we are.”

He added: “The catch-all term to define this data convergence is Digital Home. The magazine combines top quality design with technological insight to provide an aesthetically pleasing and mature lifestyle guide to the latest digital innovations.”

The magazine will face stiff competition in the already crowded lifestyle magazine market, mostly notably from IPC’s Wallpaper*, which recently relaunched with a more accessible design and enhanced editorial.

Future Publishing recently unveiled a new genealogy magazine called Your Family Tree, in an attempt to capitalise on the growing interest in tracking family history (see Future Branches Out With Family Tree Magazine).
