Galaxy To Be Sold
GWR’s successful bid for Chiltern, which is now unconditional, received acceptances for 65% of the total share capital. Capital Radio, DMGT and European Media Association were among those who accepted the proposal.
However, the takeover bid means that, under current ownership rules, GWR must sell a licence. The most likely to be sold is the regional station Galaxy, because it broadcasts in the same region as GWR’s flagship Bristol-based station, GWR FM.

Emap’s takeover of the Metro group of licences means that the Bradford-based Pulse FM and Great Yorkshire AM West must also be sold.
